no power on my GE model

When I got up this morning I saw that there was no power on my GE model JVm1631BB006 . Serial number AD978923S, made 1/2002. Now what, a new microwave?

Disconnect the power to the oven and then remove the cover and check if there's a wiring diagram inside near the control panel.

Having this will help you to find out what's wrong

Be safety aware when working inside microwave ovens. The HV capacitor can store >5000V DC for months even if the power has been disconnected from the oven for this length of time. This amount of voltage can seriously injure you. The HV capacitor needs to be correctly discharged as soon as it is accessible after the cover is removed and before commencing any other work inside the oven.

Oh, by the way , correct me if I’m wrong, I think I forgot to mention that I plugged in a electric hairdryer and it DID work. Sorry for messing up the message. Tim

You need to check the fuse (or circuit breaker) in the power box, for the wall outlet that the oven is connected to, is OK.

If it's blown (or tripped), there's always a reason that this happens. Rarely if ever does it occur for no reason.

If it has blown (or tripped), replace the fuse (or reset the breaker) and first try the hair dryer in the wall outlet and check if it works OK.

If it does, plug the oven into the outlet, place a cup of water in the oven and turn it on and check if it heats the water or blows the fuse (or trips the breaker).

If it blows the fuse again (or trips the breaker) disconnect the power to the oven and then remove the cover and check if there's a wiring diagram inside near the control panel.
