I've been using the WF-1000XM4 for over 3 years. Recently, the battery runs out of charge in 30 minutes. Repair required. Where in New York can I have it repaired?

Sony should own up to it and offer free repairs for this design issue.
It’s very difficult to replace just the battery, so Sony offers whole unit replacement instead. It’s great when you still have warranty, not so great when you have to pay for the replacement.
Replacing just the battery is possible, see this guy doing it:

ifixit is about getting advice on how to repair things yourself.
Here's the ifixit Sony WF-1000XM4 Wireless Earbuds battery replacement guide that shows how to replace the battery in the earbuds.
Unfortunately the images of the battery are too blurry even when zoomed in to make out the model number of the battery.
Once you have opened the earbuds to access the battery, note the battery model number which is stamped on the battery and then search online using that information to find suppliers that suit you best.
If doing this yourself seems too daunting, contact a reputable, professional electronics repair service and ask for a quote.
