Why is my refrigerator makes loud knocking sounds

Loud knocking sounds could be caused by a few things e.g. faulty condenser fan, faulty evaporator fan, faulty compressor etc even ice chunks falling off the evaporator unit during the auto defrost cycle.

Here's the service data sheet for the refrigerator that might help to find the cause of the noise..

Enter the system diagnostic mode as described by the sheet, and then one at a time, individually activate all the components, that have moving parts e.g. fans, compressor, auger motor, solenoids and valves.

Hopefully by doing it this way you can isolate which component is making the noise when you manually activate it and then the noise ceases when you deactivate it.
