Videos do not play on iPod even after converting to native resolution.

I wanted to try to play videos on my iPod 5.5( Model:MA446LL), but they would not play. I tried converting the videos through Itunes, Handbrake, and many other converters and the video would still not play. I am able to fast forward and it would show the parts of the video on screen, but it would not start when pressing play. Is there any way to fix this?
