What is the model number of the oven?

Sounds as though one of the door interlock switches may be stuck in the closed position (switch contacts fused together), when it should be opened by the door closing, causing the power to trip.

Knowing the model number will ensure that if this is the problem that the correct part can be found, as there are usually 3 door interlock switches in a microwave oven and they're not all the same type of switch.

Be safety aware when working in microwave ovens. The HV capacitor can store >5000V DC for months even if the power has been disconnected for this length of time. This amount of voltage can seriously injure you. The HV capacitor needs to be correctly discharged as soon as it can be accessed after removing the cover from the oven and before any further work is done in the oven
