Can you receive sms texts OK?
Have you checked that the Message centre setting information entered in the phone is correct for your service provider.
Here's a link that shows where to find the setting in your phone.
The number shown is NOT for your provider (unless you're with Vodaphone UK) so check your provider's website for the information
