I ordered a display assembly thinking it was the correct one for my laptop. I tried to replace it and found that the display assembly was for an R2 and not an R3. When I looked for the specific correct part, I was not able to find it.

There seems to be plenty of suppliers online.
Contact one that suits you and confirm first that it is compatible with your model laptop.
Here's the service manual that may help with the replacement as well. Checking the number of pins on the video cable connector matches what the display cable has is usually a good way to know that it may be compatible.
