Buttons sometimes double inputting

I am overall happy with my purchase of my elite series 2 controller (i have the core edition, but I am pretty sure it is exactly the same, it just doesn't come with a case and pre-purchased paddles), but I have a slight problem with its input sometimes. Every now and then I will press a button and it will input twice. This can get slightly annoying as I play highly precise games and whenever it double inputs, it messes me up for the next 5 seconds (at least). Is there any way I can fix this, or is there anyone who has been having the same problems. My controller is relatively new ( a few months old) but I am not sure about the warranty and wanted to ask here before I looked at a possible replacement.

Any help would be appreciated, thanks!

Hi Flikety!

Where did you bought the controller? You should have warranty on it. Just return it and get a refund or ask for another controller. Also note that you also can return it to Microsoft self (with the receipt) if the shop where you bought is giving you a hard time.

To answer your question: There is probably something wrong with the rubber or the actual button sticker. This can be repaired, but again, as long as there is warranty on it, please return it and get yourself a new one (of refund).

Thanks for the response. Just wondering if there was any way to get a refund/warranty without the receipt. I seem to have misplaced it and now i can not find how long the warranty is. I also bought this controller online and cant find the place i bought it from anymore. Any suggestions?

Hi! How did you bought the controller? With your credit card, or PayPal? With your proof of payment you can ask for a refund. Also you can find some information about the company within the payment.
