Sold Wrong DC Inboard

Hi, I just purchased a new DC Inboard because mine was loose in the area where the adapter plugs in. The seller sent me the wrong part giving me Part #A1095 instead of part #1046.

After changing a couple of the cables around we were able to get it all connected however it doesn't work. This was my main computer so I know it worked just fine when I was able to charge my battery on a friends computer.

Right now it charges the battery, but just makes a whirring sound like a car does when the battery is low. No chime or anything else.

My question is after I return the board should I try to find the right part or does it sound like something else is now wrong with my baby?

Thank you!

Wait till tomorrow for an answer from Ben Eiseman. He's the best parts man around here.

Thanks Mayer for your suggestion. I've put the old board in and it does light up the power plug, the problem is the adapter part is loose, but I will see what happens when I reconnect the logic board.

Try and put the old board in, and see if you can get it to boot, if this doesn't fix it, you may have roasted the logic board. These boards put out a specific voltage for the right laptop, and the wrong board could cause some damage.

The board will work fine in the A1046 and A1095 . I successfully tried it dozens of times.
