Subject: Saturn Information System version 4.0

Saturn 4.0 provides improvements to its Acute Point-of-Care charting and documentation capabilities as well as the very important administrative function of purging cases. With this latest release, Saturn is compliant with the HL7 CCOW standard for Context Management.

1. A purge case function has been added to Saturn. The Case Manager purge function completely removes all case data from the database. There is no way to retrieve data after a case has been purged. Purging cases helps prevent the database from excessive growth.
2. The Post-Op View Check, Score, and Assess Pages now incorporate deletion of rows (parameters). This feature allows for further customization of the Post-Op Nursing documentation to meet the needs of a particular patient type.
3. A Pre-Operative History of Present Illness (HPI) has been incorporated into a new HPI Page found within the Pre-Op View. Data is entered with free-form text. This documentation allows the clinician to more accurately explain exactly what led up to the need for this patient to be seen. This is the history of the current illness, not the family, medical, or anesthesia histories which are documented on a separate page in the Pre-Op View. This additional information complies with JCAHO requirements.
4. Comments can be entered for drugs, fluids, Post-Op checks, and Post-Op scores.
5. The user can invoke a screen saver on a Clinical Workstation. The screen saver protects patient confidentiality while a workstation is left unattended and may be used to facilitate the hospital's compliance with HIPAA regulations.
6. Web site that is CCOW compliant, then the Browser will automatically access the patient that the Saturn user is working on. This ensures "Patient Context" and prevents accidental access to the wrong patient file while saving the clinician time because they are not required to search for their particular case. This feature is configurable.

7. Aspect BIS monitor and Baxter Vigilance cardiac output monitor can be interfaced through a serial connection on the Saturn Clinical Workstation.

The BIS monitor will provide a value for Bispectral Index (BIS) with a value of 0 - 100 with no units of measure, an Electromyography (EMG) value measured in decibels, and a Signal Quality Index (SQI) measured in percent. These values can be charted in the physiological graph or be displayed numerically in the chart grid.

Saturn 4.0 provides the ability to disable views at a particular workstation.
