New Battery for Early 2011 MacBook Pro

Battery management menu reported service issues. Battery wouldn't last more than 1 minute off the power supply. Another issue other users may *really* wish to know is that the slight swelling of the old battery severely affected the trackpad functionality. Clicking didn't work well. Replacement with a fresh iFixit battery solved both problems!

Repair was swift, thanks to a complete iFixit ProTech toolkit. Many thanks to the folks at iFixit for replacing the bit set that was stolen from my kit. Couldn't have done it without that. Used the iFixit app on my iPhone to follow along with the repair and it worked flawlessly, although I got some funny crosswise glances from my wife while the "patient" was on the table… "should you really be doing that yourself?" :-)

If you are having trackpad issues and your battery performance is less-than-optimal, consider replacing the battery. Don't forget the iFixit iPhone (or iPad) app. Took about four minutes total. Cake!

Look at the bright side… It can't be as bad as the battery for my 15" 'Pro :-)
