Mine has the same issue, started happening after i upgraded to snow leopard. I haven't found the culprit of this yet... although when i changed the network configuration away from a 128WEP to a wpa it started connecting right away 95% of the time as opposed to 60% before...
could be the graphics card chip. ive had a 65 percent success rate on taking a piece of foil, with a square cut out the size of the g-chip, and heating it up with a heatgun til the chip gets hot and reseats... then put the logic board back in the computer and see if that helped. its a tricky process.... but does work on occasion.
Apples by default wake for Ethernet access. Disable this in the energy settings of your mac, sometimes a packet of info sent to the computer could cause it to wake on its own.
how long is the computer asleep for? is it instant? usually an apple will restart automatically if there is a power failure. your computer could have a number of issues wrong with it. try putting it to sleep plugged in without the battery in it... see if it does it. also, try the usual... reset the PRAM by holding down +Option+P+R on reboot and hold it until the computer chimes, not once but three times. also, then when the computer is off, reset the firmware, by holding down the power button until the light flashes and the computer emits a long tone. If none of those issues fix it, you might have a problem with a dc board or logic board and need to get it replaced
it happens. more frequently than not. Buy a new drive and replace it, its fairly easy to do... try davids methods, and if that doesnt cut it, replacing it is a walk in the park
does it work well plugged into something else? other than the computer?
also bose should offer a repair service to their customers for little to no cost... probably try that route first before replacing the cable and voiding any kind of warranty they might offer
the dvi cable is built into your monitor, so its hard to replace that... could be a bad pin on it or a bad inverter assembly inside. theres not much you can do to fix it without some specialized apple or lcd repair shop that deals in re cabling the screens
Take a pad with rubbing alcohol and rub the ball thoroughly, as there might be some debris and dirt caught under it prohibiting it from moving. Otherwise http://www.mightymouserepair.com has a guide or my personal favorite...
