considering it is embedded within the display assembly, any chance that the fingerprint sensor is affected by replacing the screen?
glad to see Samsung has improved back glass quality since the tortilla chip on the Note 5. much friendlier to open.
I’ve got this exact model. Stock 6GB of RAM. However, I’ve attempted to upgrade to 8GB and have tried multiple sticks of RAM and no matter what, the computer won’t recognize it. I’ve ensured it’s locked in properly, RAM is functional, even factory reset. All to no success. Any ideas?
as far as keyboard removal, it is just slightly adhered to the housing. carefully wedge a plastic pick under the spacebar area and with a little heat, it should just come up, while using the pick to pry it up. be mindful of the flex connector that goes through the frame to attach to the board.
thanks for the detailed information. i replaced the battery as well as re-soldered a new charging port onto the k001 with no success of producing an image onto the screen. my multimeter indicates that the battery is producing adequate voltage yet no sign of life . im leaning towards a power management issue being the culprit currently, unless there is another trick to restoring power to the board that im not aware of. any further information regarding my particular matter would be appreciated.
be careful transferring the ear piece and microphone piece inserts from the old assembly to the new one, **if your replacement assembly does not come with those inserts already in place. ive cracked a few glasses on new assemblies just during this often overlooked step.
my T4 drivers are too large. T3 has always worked for me on the back panel.
more than any of the other iPhone models, we seem to have customers return their 6s Plus screen replacements claiming touch issues after our repair. we use OEM certified assembly replacements and stick with the same reputable vendors we have used over the years. the returns seem to come in droves. months without a return and then 3-5 returns in one week for a couple weeks in a row. just curious if anyone else has noticed such issue or has an explanation to the phenomenon.
I'm currently having the same issue with my replacement. I went ahead and ordered a second assembly to make sure the replacement part wasn't the issue, with no success. I'm still experiencing the screen cutting off randomly and heat coming from the board.
