Yah, you can upgrade just about everything, but do be sure how much money you want to put into it - they're only worth a few hundred now. RAM is pretty easy to find - it's standard PC 133 RAM for most G4 models. I recommend Other World Computing for RAM, as I've purchased a bunch of their ram - fast, reliable, and well priced! Video cards are a tricky issue - Mac cards are very expensive, but you can flash standard PC video cards with a Mac Rom, depending on the card, chipset, ROM size, and some other factors. (http://theMacelite.wikidot.com/ is a fantastic reference for this!). PC cards are far cheaper, although still a bit expensive. Keep an eye out for sales and at used computer stores - I found a Radeon 9800 Pro for $15 once, and pulled another out of an old Dell desktop that had been thrown out. Note that the QS G4s use an AGP 4x bus, and that due to Apple's special ADC monitor port, you'll need to tape over pins 3 and 11 on any PC card you add. See the link for more info. I believe you can swap CPUs...

In my experience from the PPC days, "Disc 2" was usually the disc that included various applications - such as iLife. It's probably best to find a copy to install these apps and optional components, but you may be able to install just the base system by customizing the install (de-select all the optional installs, printer drivers, apps, etc).

PSPGEN is in current development, and does. As to flashing, I can't quite remember the order you need to do it. However, I discovered an excellent tutorial: http://forums.pspslimhacks.com/tutorials...-tutorial-how-install-cfw-any-psp.html VERY nice! Since you have a Pandora battery, and a 2 GB memory stick, you should be fine. Your 1000 model is completely hackable, and the default PSP GEN install should do most of what you want - although some homebrew won't run without earlier firmware modes installed.... I don't recall how you're supposed to get the 1.5 and 3.7 support running in the later versions, but I'm sure you can find it. Make sure to update PSPGEN in order! See the tutorial :D
Читать далееOuch. You say it works with external power, correct? Does it work correctly - able to play music and so on? If so, it's probably just the battery that's damaged. Unfortunately as you can see in the repair guides here, its tricky to open up. I had similar trouble once - after I sent my "Stick of Gum" iPod Shuffle through the wash at the laundromat. It managed to get suck between the dryer's drum and door, grinding a gash almost all the way through the case and utterly destroying the buttons. Incredibly, it survived and continued to work! Of course, it only worked with external power. It turns out that although the circuitry was a-ok, the battery was shot - and after removing the battery, it worked for a year afterwards as a perfectly good USB flash drive. One other thing you might try - as suggested by mayer - is to open it up and carefully clean the inside if you spot residue. Years ago, I managed to resurrect my Gameboy Pocket this way after a similar encounter with a grape slushy...
