I dont know but Im doing the same thing. On mine its in there pretty good without any tape. The two screws are holding it in place so as long as its not flapping around I cant see an issue. Its a used battery so I dont want to tape it back in.
Did you get any info on this. Wondering if its the same part as the 3. I am researching now.
Its confusing how this works because on the 2018 model I have, the laptop turns on when ANY key is pressed. As soon as I hit Shift, Control, and Option the computer powers up automatically.
Looks like battery 1 is the larger battery.
You would think Lenovo would make this information readily available. Im in their manual right now. Not seeing anything. Extremely annoying. Will just use a trial and error method removing one and see if thats the defective one.
The Magsafe DC board is its own board. The I/O board is on the other side. The TB and mic jack are part of the motherboard itself. Maybe you are thinking of the Macbook Air.
I'm just going to start working on these machines so I'm a little unclear. Is the touch ID assembly mounted to the frame or the board? There is no guide to remove the touch ID assembly so I'm in the dark. Is the Touch ID on a Mac only compatible with that board?
The step guides probably take allot more work but they are so much more informative. You actually learn the computer and all its components as you are disassembling. The videos shows you what to do but its not always obvious what component you are removing. The old guides were great. I guess we were spoiled.
Too late. I should have read the comments first but I was rushing. I just stripped two of them. They are in there super tight.
Be super careful with this part. I just stripped two of these t6 screws and have two more that will not budge. Now I have to figure out how to get them out. How did these get so tight? What a headache.
