Hey Jack, it's funny you mentioned this because recently I watched this video of a man creating an iPhone 6S from scratch In the middle of this video he tests the display of an iPhone with just a logic board and battery which can be seen being done in this part of the video. If you mean being able to use an iPhone without the back template of the iPhone and just the parts I believe that it's definitely possible. A way you can make this work is bydisassembling your iPhone and connecting the parts to function it.
