Does anyone know how to unlock a R900M-2-PW? A friend gave it to me but he can’t remember the password

With that pC board, my battery worked for a week or so. It eventually stopped working when macOS tries to cycle it. I recently replaced the battery again, this time I removed the board.

Unfortunately my fix only lasted a few months. Once the reconditioning started back up, it has reported the battery as failed.

since my battery was dead and not charging, I’d guess that “0x#0 = 17” is dead battery.

The batteries have a bar code and a tiny + and - that indicate which is tab positive and negative. The one I bought on eBay for $19 has wires already connected to the battery - Phew! So I just had to make sure I connected the correct terminals.

Now my battery works and it’s conditioning. Unfortunately I had a drive failure at the same time as my battery died - so I lost the RAID config and data. Two+ years later my Xserve is back in action!

This step takes the most time.
