hi, how did you find out that the exact date in which Juicebox / Enel X apps will stop working of October 11th? Same question with amperage. Someone on Reddit told me amperage limit settings is stored in a EEPROM and if there is a coin battery on the motherboard, removing it wouldn't clear the setting. Have to do a factory reset by connecting to ZAP chip. No jumper on motherboard? My WIFI isn't reliable and not in a position to power cycle to try to connect to it's ad-hoc upon bootup. Oh well maybe stuck at 20A setting on my pro 40 the rest of its' life
Thank You! Since Enel X is bankrupt, is there a way to reset Amperage reduction setting back to full by pulling a coin battery or something on the PCB or a jumper?
This laptop throttles like crazy with heavy load even if both fans are working perfectly!
Motherboard removal is necessary because on my 4th gen i7 Intel R2 laptop, the fan screws are on the underside, so when it's all put together, the screws are under the motherboard and the non-removable underbody plastic is covering it. Have to remove the motherboard, flip it over so you see all the heat pipes.
Yep motherboard removal is necessary! There are guides on Youtube. Be careful of the WIFI wires, they nick easily and the circular connectors are delicate, use fingers not metal tool. Also require screen removal. Keep a hand on it as you take off the screws for the hinges so there is no strain.
Requires Phillips #00 for the small screw of the SSD stick and a few others not just Phillips #0
It looks like fan removal requires the motherboard to be taken out because there is a metal flange on the bottomside of the fans that go along the copper heatpipe. I cannot lift the fans much and no room to pivot the flange out of the way to get the fans out.
By looking at the photos it looks like the display cable is just North of the fan looking at the motherboard from the top of the laptop. It has the pull tab. I think the cable pulls out of the motherboard straight up. When I did it, I either did it by hand or very carefully with needle nose pliers. I'm not sure where your difficulty occurred? It doesn't have any specific lock. You pull off gently and to reconnect you push on gently with even pressure on both sides
The other ribbon cables on this and other laptops either use a flip-up style lock or push in-out style lock.
Within a few weeks I should be able to go to my friend's house where I have a broken down U47 and see how the connector works for certain.
Side note, in no photos or steps in this tutorial do I see how or where to disconnect the Wi-Fi antenna..
It's just a 15 amp AGC type (glass tube) fuse. Available at your local autozone, o'reilly's, etc parts store.
No new battery to buy for this phone? Maybe can buy from Kyocera?
Where to buy replacement speaker?
