Hi, I had the same problem and took the risk of making the jumper. I used a conducting glue instead of soldering the thing because it is so tiny, I do not own the tools for it. It worked fine using this glue, my screen is as bright as it should be!
Hi, I have the same problem with a Z1 compact. The broken screen DOES light up, the new screen shows ONLY backlight. When I try the new screen on a DIFFERENT Z1 compact, it DOES work. So it looks like this particular Z1 does not want to work with this new screen. But what can be the reason? The broken screen works (at least, lights up and shows image), the new one does not. (on this device)
After replacing the powerbutton that had broken down, my screen started to behave strangely (non-responsive). So I replaced the screen, but that did not help. The touch is unreliable. So I checked the digitizer cable and re-connected it. It remains unreliable. I have to press it real hard in order for it to function a couple of minutes, than apparently it slightly disconnects again and the touch doesn't work. Press it again, it is okay again for some time. I am beginning to believe that my original screen was okay after all, there is something with that connection that gives the failures. Any advise?
