Device will not power on
The laptop does not show any indication of powering up.
The battery is without charge and needs to be plugged in. Ensure you test multiple outlets before proceeding to the next check.
A faulty battery could possibly stop the flow of any power to the computer. Check out the guide on replacing a battery here!
Faulty Power adapter
The AC adapter for the computer could be faulty thus preventing the computer from charging. To test this remove the battery from the laptop and plug it in and attempt to power on. If it does not power on you most likely have a faulty AC cable.
The device will not charge
When I plug the device in to charge windows does not detect that it is charging.
Loose plug seating
Ensure that all plugs are firmly seated into the power brick, Laptop and power outlet.
The battery may be defective and unable to charge, in order to check this remove the battery and hold the power button down for about 15 seconds to drain any residual power from the device. Then, with the battery still removed plug in the power cable and turn the laptop on. If the laptop powers on without the battery and only the AC adapter it most likely is a faulty battery. However, please reseat the battery and plug it back in to charge to double check it was not a seating issue. If you need to replace the battery, follow this link.
Monitor is showing bars of a different color when turned on
There are lines running across the screen in some form causing random pixel outage.
Noticeable dents or damage
Check the casing that surrounds your laptop screen for dents. If you see any notable dents that could represent a large force applied onto the LCD screen within.
Poor cable connection
The cable that connects the LCD panel to the motherboard may become loose or completely disconnected from its socket.
Keyboard/wrist rest area feels hot
Keyboard rest is hot after running applications.
Internal components reaching excessive temperature
Power down the PC and allow 5-10 minutes for hardware to cool down. Reboot the computer and figure out what load the computer is under that causes the hardware to overheat. Having too many programs running at once, or very hardware intensive programs running can cause over heating if your hardware is not cooled adequately.
Lack of air circulation to the system
Ensure that when using your device that you do not have it resting on bedding or carpet. This prevents airflow to the device and will cause it to heat rapidly. It is recommended to have the device rest on anything that is not a cloth based surface. If the problem persists, purchasing a 3rd party laptop fan rest may help increase air flow underneath the laptop.
Dust Buildup In Fans
There is most likely a large amount of dust buildup in the fan cover and should be cleaned. Either just by wiping it down with a cloth or with an air duster blowing the dust out of the vents.
