Canon EOS Rebel G Troubleshooting

No matter what you do, you can't get your Camera to turn on.

Before taking everything apart, make sure that the settings dial is not turned to the 'OFF' position (red L). If your camera problem isn't so easily solved, read on.

If you have not used your camera for a while, it is possible that your batteries are drained. This is an easy fix however, you might need to change your batteries.

If camera continues to not turn on, even with new batteries, the problem might be in your logic board. We offer instructions for installing the logic board in your camera.

When taking photos your film is not rolling.

If the back door of your camera does not fully close, the camera will not roll film. You might need to replace your back door latch, which we offer a guide for here.

If your film roller is not working it could be an issue with the winding mechanism in the camera. We unfortunately do not have a guide for this problem at this time.

Flash is not deploying when it is activated, or flash is deploying but does not go off.

If the flash bulb does not deploy or go off, there may be a bad connection to the logic board. Refer to the logic board guide for repair instructions.

If the flash bulb is deploying but not going off, the bulb may be broken or burnt out. We offer instructions on how to install a new bulb into your camera.

Your camera turns on but your screen does not display anything.

If the LCD screen does not display, there may be a bad connection to the logic board. Refer to the logic board guide for repair instructions.

If the connection to the motherboard is good, there might be a problem with the LCD display itself. We offer instructions on how to install a new LCD display into your camera.

Camera lens does not lock in place when attached to the camera.

If the camera lens will not attach properly to the camera, you might have a broken lens connector. You can find instructions on how to replace the lens connector here.

If the lens connector is intact, there may be a problem with the locking pin for the lens. We unfortunately do not have a guide for this problem at this time.

If the lens connector and locking pin are both working, your lens itself may be damaged. We unfortunately do not offer a repair guide for lenses at this time.
