If you experience flashing lights when your DJI Phantom 2 Vision drone is on, follow this troubleshooting guide.
LED Flight Indicator Function
- The Phantom 2 Vision’s LED lights located on the drone are mainly used to indicate where the front and back of the drone are from far away. The front LED lights will turn red only after spinning the device’s propellers. There are only a few abnormal status indicators.
The Signal With the Remote Control Has Been Lost
- If the Phantom 2 flight indicator LED lights are quickly blinking yellow, then the signal with the remote controller has been lost.
- To ensure that the controller can connect without initiating the failsafe, The remote controller’s antenna should be pointing skyward, relatively perpendicular to the ground with no obstacles in the way.
- After checking the antenna, simply reconnect the controller to fix this issue
Lost GPS Signal
- If the Phantom 2 flight indicator LED lights are slowly blinking yellow, that indicates you are in ATTI mode and you have lost GPS signal.
- Move to an open area to fly the drone with minimal interference, and it will automatically switch out of ATTI mode. Until then, you will need to fly manually without assistance, relying solely on remote inputs, which requires a high level of skill.
Battery Power is Low
- If the lights are slowly blinking red, then the battery power is running low.
- To charge the device, Connect the USB-C charger or PD fast charger to the USB-C port of the charging hub. The corresponding LEDs will change to solid green when the battery is fully charged.
Critical Error
- If the lights are solid red on the back lamps, then there has been a critical error and the device cannot fly. Try to connect to the Phantom 2 Assistant Software for more details on the specific error. You may need to recalibrate your device.
The Compass is Not Calibrated Correctly
- If the lights are blinking between red and yellow, then the device’s compass needs to be calibrated.
- To re-calibrate the device’s Phantom 2 Vision’s compass, refer to page 30 of your Phantom 2 Vision manual.
