Battery Dies Quickly
The battery runs out faster than it should.
The brightness is too high
Having high brightness drains the battery quickly. Lowering the brightness to a reasonable level will increase battery life.
Too many active applications
Having a lot of open applications or tabs in the browser will drain the battery quickly. Make sure that you only have the apps you are using open.
Worn battery
Batteries wear out over time. Replacing an old battery will make the battery life as good as new.
Here is a replacement guide for your battery.
Unresponsive Keys
Some or all of the keys do not type when pressed.
Dirty Keys
Dirt and dust occasionally get under into keys and prevent them from working. Clean keys if just a few aren't working by blowing under the keys with compressed air or wiping with rubbing alcohol.
Broken Keys
If the keyboard was hit with anything, it could be broken. You would need to replace the key.
Consider using this guide to replace your keyboard.
The computer doesn't charge
The laptop doesn't charge when it is plugged in.
The charger is broken
The charger may be the issue. Try another charger to see if that is the issue.
The charger is too weak
Make sure that your charger is strong enough. The charger could be functional but too weak for the Chromebook. The device requires a 15-volt, 3-amp charger, but more inadequate chargers may fit.
Unplugged Battery
This is very uncommon. The battery may be unplugged if the Chromebook runs on the charger, but it always stops when it is unplugged. To fix this issue, unscrew the bottom and carefully lift the keyboard to see if the cable that connects the battery to the motherboard is connected.
Consider using this replacement for your charging port.
The computer doesn't boot
It turns on, but it doesn't get past that.
Damaged OS
This can happen when you power wash the device. To fix it, you can get the OS onto a flash drive and boot with it.
Faulty BIOS (Basic Input/Output System)
Bios is the program a computer uses to start the device after it is powered on. To check the BIOS settings, press the F2 key during startup. Check if the boot order is set to the correct device, such as the hard drive or USB drive. Make sure that the UEFI boot mode is enabled.
The computer doesn't power on
The device doesn't turn on when the power button is pressed.
Device is dead
The device could have no battery. Try turning it on while the charger is plugged in.
Screen is Broken
Opening and closing the computer may eventually damage a cable in the hinge. The computer could be turning on, but the screen isn't. If the light on the power button is on, but the computer seems off, you should try repairing the screen.
