Device Won't Turn On
The power button is pressed, and the speaker doesn’t respond. Before reading on, try pressing the power button repeatedly for three to eight times.
The Device Isn’t Charged
Plug the device into the charging cable. Make sure it is fully plugged into an outlet and into the device. If it is suspected that the charger is the issue, see symptom number 2 (Device Won’t Charge).
Need to Reset
Press down all six buttons of the speaker at the same time for 10 seconds. Then wait a moment and press the power button for a hard reset.
If that doesn’t work, try pressing play/pause, volume up, volume down at the same time.
Faulty Buttons
If the buttons aren’t working, see Symptom 4 below (Buttons Not Working).
Speaker is In Service Mode
Connect the charger to the Speaker, hold down the Bluetooth and play button for 10-15 seconds.
Faulty Battery
See Battery Replacement Guide.
Device won’t Charge
The device is dead and will not respond to the charger.
The charger is not working or not plugged into a working outlet
Try a different wall outlet or a different charger.
The Battery can no longer hold a charge
Replace battery and try to charge again. See Battery Replacement Guide.
There may be a broken port or a faulty charging wire
Test charger on a different device and if successful look to repair the port. See Charging Port Repair Guide.
Bluetooth Won’t Connect
The device is unable to connect through Bluetooth.
The connecting device might not have properly been turned on
Reset the device ( restart your device, restart Bluetooth )
The primary circuit board is not properly working
Replace the primary circuit board within the speaker. See Motherboard Repair Guide.
Buttons Not Working
Pressing or holding down any buttons for 1-3 seconds gives no response.
Dirt build up or wear and tear
Remove the front cover (reference Outer Case Repair Guide) and clean/replace the old buttons. For additional help, see the Buttons Repair Guide.
Device is in service mode
Plug in the charger. Press and hold the Bluetooth and play/pause button and hold for about 10 seconds to turn off service mode. The speaker will turn off and return to normal.
Internal Damage
See the Motherboard Repair Guide.
Speaker stutters
Audio playback is disrupted every interval of a couple of seconds.
Low battery
You might experience choppy sounds when the battery is low. Charge the device and try again.
Apps open in background
Close the apps in the background off the device you are using because they may be interfering with the app used for music.
Previously connected devices in proximity of speaker
Make sure the speaker isn't connecting to other devices that were previously linked together because this can also lead to disrupted audio.
Poor Bluetooth connectivity
Reference Symptom 3 Above.
Outdated firmware
Update or reinstall the firmware to the most recent version. Use the JBL Portable app while your phone is connected to the device. Update the device using the app.

It won't turn on when I press the button and when I plug in the speaker it turns on but when I unplug the speaker it turns off do you know how to fix it

Jbl flip 5 speaker turn on and off reset multiple time but doesn’t make no sound turning on or off and Bluetooth doesn’t make a sound either or shows up on my phone. How can I fix that situation
