Laptop Won't Turn ON

When the power button is pressed nothing happens

Power Adapter is Faulty

Make certain that the power adapter is plugged into an outlet and that the charge light is on. If the light is not on, and the adapter is plugged in, then the adapter is defective. Consider purchasing a replacement adapter.

Faulty Battery

Battery failure can be a scary issue, since it may cause your laptop to abruptly shut down or even prevent it from starting when not plugged in. If the time has come and your battery is dead, the only thing to do is to replace it. You will have to remove it and inspect it for a model number. Purchase your new battery with the laptop's manufacturer or a third party. The third-party option may be cheaper, however, buying from the laptop's manufacturer may provide the highest quality. If the battery is faulty, follow this guide to replace it.

Frozen or Unresponsive Screen

Your screen is not responding

Unfreezing the screen

You will have to reboot your frozen computer. To do that press and hold down the power button until the computer turns off. Once the computer is off, wait a few seconds, then turn the computer back on and let it start as normal. As it is starting back up, you may see a screen asking you if you want to start the computer in Safe Mode or Start Windows Normally. Choose Start Windows Normally and Windows should start up correctly without errors.

Weak Wireless Connection

You are losing your wireless connection frequently

Overwhelmed Wi-Fi

Even if you have a fast connection, too many electronics can overwhelm your WiFi. Using two routers can be very beneficial. If you are not using all the electronic devices, disconnect them from the WiFi and your connection should increase.

Failing WiFi Card/Chip

A WiFi card is a computer hardware component that allows users to connect to wireless connections. It may come as a PCMCIA(Personal Computer Memory Card International Association) card or an internal expansion card that is installed into a slot in your motherboard. If you have a failing WiFi card, some symptoms will tell you that you need to troubleshoot the problem to get the device back into working condition. If the Wi-Fi card has failed, you may need to replace it.

No Sound

Your sound keeps going on and off or doesn't go on at all

The Audio Setup is Directed to Headphones

This mostly happens when you have your headphones set as default audio. You will need to set the speakers as default. To perform this task follow the instructions mentioned below to set speakers as default:

1. Go to Start and click on control Panel.

2. Click in Sound, then a new window will open up.

3. In the new window click on the tab "Playback" and right click in the window and click on Show Disabled devices.

4. Now check if speakers are listed there and right click on it and choose enable.

5. Highlight the speakers and click on "Set as Default"

Faulty Speakers

If there is no sound coming from your device and you have updated all of the software, the volume is not muted, etc. it is time to replace your laptop speakers.
