Galaxy Y Will Not Power On
The phone will not respond or show signs of any charge
Faulty Power Adapter
If the charge light is not illuminated, and the power adapter is properly coupled to the device, then the adapter is faulty. Consider purchasing a replacement power adapter.
Faulty Battery
If the phone only shows a charge when plugged into the power adapter, then the battery is faulty. Replace the battery using this guide.
Galaxy Y Fails to Mount Data
Occurs when the device is locked in a reboot cycle or has too little ROM available
Not Enough ROM
Factory SD cards might have insufficient ROM available, consider purchasing a spare SD card to insert into the device and replace the current SD card using this guide.
Hardware Firmware Error
If the device cannot complete a reboot, the device’s firmware might be corrupt or full, consider wiping the data cache and resetting the device to its factory setting. CAUTION: this clears all saved data so have copies of all-important items from the phone transferred to a safe location. Galaxy Y’s Audio is Faulty
The audio quality is poor and occasionally cuts the sound from music and calls
Defective Audio Port/Speakers
If the audio does not work after being coupled with a pair of headphones, then the audio port and speakers are messed up and need to be replaced or checked to see if the audio port is properly attached to the device's interior wiring. Consider taking the phone to your provider to get fixed.

Galaxy Y loses Wi-Fi connection without warning
Wi-Fi Sleep Policy
If Wi-Fi keeps being lost from the device, then the phone’s sleep policy might be activated within the settings, which causes the Wi-Fi to disconnect while the phone is locked or off. The sleep policy may also not allow the phone to reconnect to the Wi-Fi once unlocked.
Malfunctioning Wi-Fi Router
If Wi-Fi is not working on the phone, the router may need to be reset then reconnected, as it could be out of sync due to possible weather or blockage, so by resetting the router it can reestablish the connection to the satellite and the device.
Galaxy Y Screen Display Failure
The phone’s screen is on, but the device will not respond
Frozen Screen
If the phone’s display screen is frozen, restarting the phone may resolve the issue, for the device may be experiencing drive corruption or errors, causing the display to freeze and/or lag at times.
Screen Conneced Improperly
If the device’s screen is still unresponsive after being restarted, consider replacing the display screen using this guide, for the screen may be disconnected to the interior parts of the phone.
Underlying Device Issues
If restarting the phone and replacing the display screen does not settle the issue, consider calling your phone provider for help, for the phone may have other underlying issues that are causing the phone to malfunction.
