Device Won’t Turn On or Charge
Roomba won’t power up, hold a charge, light up, or displays flashing error messages.
Poor Home Base Connection
This can result if the Home Base is not on a level surface. Move Home Base to a more level surface to ensure a good connection. Build-up or debris on the charging contacts of the Home Base and the robot can also prevent charging. Use a soft, dry cloth to remove any debris on the contacts.
Poor Battery Connection
If there is any buildup or debris on the contacts of the battery or of the battery well it can prevent charging. Remove battery and clean charging contacts in the battery well and on the underside of battery with a soft, dry cloth.
The charging contacts in the battery well may be bent so that they are no longer in contact with the battery. Use the back of a pen or a similar tool to gently bend the contact in the battery well upwards to ensure connection with the battery.
The battery may be old or faulty. To learn how to install a new battery, use this iRobot Roomba 880 Battery Replacement.
Device Doesn't Move
Roomba will turn on, but it will not move.
A Side Wheel is Stuck
If a side wheel is stuck, it could be because of an accumulation of debris around the wheels. If this occurs, manually spin the side wheels to free the sticking agent.
The Cliff Sensors are dirty
If Roomba is not moving, and its side wheels all are clean, your Roomba may have dirty cliff sensors. This problem tells your Roomba that it is near a cliff and prohibiting it from choosing to move. You must turn off and flip your Roomba over. Locate the cliff sensors and wipe the cliff sensors with a clean, dry cloth. Lastly, reflip and restart your roomba.
Roomba is stuck hanging over a cliff or on a dark surface
If your Roomba is in either of the conditions above it will not move. You must move your Roomba to a different location and check if it continues to move. You may want to restart your Roomba for this process.
Device Won’t Pick Up Debris
Roomba isn’t collecting debris from the floor
Bin Is Full
If the bin is filled with debris, it needs to be emptied before continued use of the Roomba. When the full bin indicator (located on the top of the Roomba) is illuminated, this means that the bin is full and needs to be emptied.
Side Brush Is Dirty
For maximum performance, the side brush should be cleaned once per week. The side brush (consists of three brushes that spin) is located at the bottom of the Roomba. It can be removed by removing the screw with a small coin or screwdriver. To clean the side brush, wipe off any debris into a waste bin.
Filter Is Dirty
If the filter is dirty, it needs to be cleaned once to twice per week. The filter can be found inside the bin under the filter door. Once removed, the filter can be cleaned by tapping it against a waste bin. Full instructions can be found at https://homesupport.irobot.com/app/answe...
Cleaning Head Module Is Dirty
The debris extractors need to be cleaned once to twice per week. These can be found on the bottom of the Roomba, in between the larger wheels. Remove the debris extractor and discard of any hair or debris attached to them. Full instructions can be found at the https://homesupport.irobot.com/app/answe...
When operating in dry environments, some debris may stick to the floor due to static hold. To fix this, use a humidifier in the general area of where your Roomba is cleaning, or use an antistatic spray like StaticGuard on the floor (do not apply antistatic spray onto the Roomba itself).
Clean brushes even when they aren’t dirty?

Replaced battery. It shows Green light when on the base. But it just won’t turn on. Waste of $700 because it stopped working after 2 years. Any way to fix it?

I have the same problem, and mine won’t reset either. It will show the RST but when you release the button it just goes away. Confirmed battery is good by switching it with my other roomba.

I have this exact same problem. Replaced the battery about a year ago and it worked fine (with official battery from iRobot) and all of the sudden it is just frozen. Green battery indicator light is on, green light on docking station is on. Tried to reset it and it just does nothing. iRobot do you all have a fix for this? Seems to be a common problem on the 800 series.

Roomba Series 880 starts up any old time without being programed. How do I fix him?
