Cracked screen, touch doesn't work. But why?

Hi i dropped my phone the other day and the screen got a tiny crack, but now the touch doesn't work.

It's probably something to do with the digitizer, but why is it that some phones sees to work after being dropped and others work fine?

Don't know if this is the right place to ask but I'm just quires, and wants to learn more, and i couldn't find a answer on google.

I send it back to them for a repair. wasn't cheap!

how much did it cost cos same happened to me

I'm not sure, but I recall approximately 199$.
