Power only gray screen
Turns on .can hear fan blowing...hear it loading but stays at grsy screen

Lets start by eliminating so stuff, static discharge and bad ram and dimm slots
1.Disconnect the power cord
2. Remove the battery
3. Hold down the power button for 30 seconds , then release for 30 sec and then hold down for another 30sec
4. Plug in power ,replace battery and power on laptop.
If this causes no Joy try this.
Remove memory and reinstall one stick at a time, if there are more than 1 dimm of ram, try each stick in each slot one at a time to see if the memory is ok and to determine if one of the memory slots is bad.
If theres still no joy try connecting to an external monitor. if it works from there its an issue with the LCD if not its probably a video card issue or APU depending on the machine. Hope this helps

Probably a bad video card, but you'll have to give us more info on your problem before we can answer. What were you doing before this happened? What does the screen look like? Past PC's history?
