My dryer will dry clothes fine and heats up correctly after setting it up on a cycle. However, the drum keeps turning after the cycle is complete. It shuts off when I open the door but comes back on when I close it. I have to keep door open to not waste energy. What can I do to fix this issue?

Hi,
There was an answer for this problem on iFixit back in 2016 by @mayer.
It’s for an earlier model but could be the same reasons.
It gives possible causes of the problem you described.

The original answer posted covered lots of options but not the cure for mine. I have posted a comment on that thread with the solution that works for me (replacing the timer unit).
I searched @mayer's page for dryer and drum; not found. So even though Helpful Harry says that there was an answer, I haven't seen it.
