What carrier do I pick?

Hello,

I need to get parts for a nTelos S5 (G900R7) and on ifixit it only says att, Verizon, sprint, T-Mobile and boost. Which one is compatible with this phone? Do they all have the same innards?

Hi @gigabit87898

Reading through this page it says that 'your phone' (assume this to be a nTelos phone) should work on the Sprint network but once you transfer to the Sprint billing system and once the network 'upgrades' have been completed if you have a phone other than an iPhone 5c or higher you will have to change your phone so that it is compatible with the Sprint network. (they just give you a new SIM card if you have an iPhone 5c and up)

Reading other pages nTelos and Sprint agreed to 'share' Sprint's LTE network so perhaps it should already work on the Sprint LTE network

Hopefully this is off some help

Thanks, it needs a logic board... :( Hopefullly I can just replace the PMIC on it if I can find the right IC, but if I can't I found a motherboard on eBay for $20

On nTelos website it actually says that all android devices sold by them are already unlocked, is this true?

I read that too, but read somewhere else that nTelos was cdma so that would limit your network options wouldn't it?

Looks like nTelos support website is either having problems or is being shutdown. Googling "nTelos cdma" gets results to nTelos but when you click on the link you get to nTelos with not much info.

Hi @gigabit87898 ,

Sorry but I don't know.

But I will say that I would be concerned to make sure that the replacement pmic is compatible with the board, i.e that the connections correspond correctly as to their functions etc.

If your existing pmic is exactly the same as to make and exact model variant as the replacement you suggested then obviously it should work.

The specs for your suggested replacement show it supports both cdma and gsm I am assuming that your phone has a SIM card reader in it which would allow it to be used for other networks since it is unlocked.

Sorry if I misled you earlier. My experience with cdma is old, as it was phased out here in Aust about 10 -12 years ago. When it was in, the phones didn't have a SIM card in them and therefore the phone was locked to the carrier.
