I have a S6 Active that was dropped. The glass is not cracked and I can hear the phone turn on but can't see anything. I got lucky and found another S6 active with a cracked screen but the LCD is good. Is it possible to take the two and put them together to make one working phone? Or would anyone even attempt to do that?

yes it is possible to switch display assembly. And it's something normal. For switching the display assembly look at the ifixit guide @coolpie123 linked.
