Battery indicator is incorrect, shows 1% for ages but will work for ages after this but screen is hard to see as automatically goes to dark. Probably at about 50 % but shows 1% . Don't want to do a factory reset any other suggestions

The battery probably needs to be replaced, if that doesn't help then it's a board level issue that I don't think is worth repairing.
Battery is fairly cheap to replace.

The screen flickering occurs when there is a critically low amount of charge on the battery so the battery is actually close to flat.
