Replacement Screen has yellow pressure marks at top-center when closed

My old iPhone screen got cracked, so I decided to get a cheap eBay replacement (or 2). The first one worked fine (apart from obvious display quality issues) but when the screen closed it seemed like the metal block on the back of the screen right below the camera was interfering with the display connector shield. This is proven when I remove the shield and close the phone, as the pressure marks are gone. So I got a different screen from another eBay supplier, again touted as OEM but obviously not, and it has the same issue. My question is if there is a way to shift the metal block so that it doesn’t interfere with the display shield and I don’t have to leave the display shield out, or if there is a supplier somewhere that actually ships genuine OEM 6s screens. Thanks!

There’s a lot of really bad quality screens on eBay and Amazon; it’s really hit or miss. If you want good quality screens, look at iFixit or other reputable suppliers. They’re more expensive but you get what you pay for ;>).

As for your existing screen, take a look at this guide (if you haven’t already) to insure you have mounted everything properly. That “metal block” below the camera is circuitry, don’t go and apply pressure to that to move it, otherwise you will destroy the screen.

Yeah, that's the guide I used. The block can really only move higher or lower, so as long as its under the EMI shield it's pretty hard to mess up, so I'm pretty sure I did that right. iFixit doesn't seem to be selling the part anymore, so I might go with what @zchead said and use a popular part on Amazon, even though this part was MORE popular on eBay! You'd figure 6,800 sold wouldn't be wrong, but I guess I was mistaken. Either way, the screen has some tiny pixels, so I will more than likely end up swapping later. I won't screw with the block anymore, I'll just leave the display connector shield off for now to relieve pressure.

Actually, will I damage anything if that stays out of the phone?

The bracket is there to insure a secure connection. If you drop the phone, the connectors may unseat.

There is not a good way to shift the metal that you’re referring to but I have had luck buying screens off amazon that have at least a 4 star rating.

Okay, I'll take a look at iPhone screens on Amazon maybe around Christmas or Black Friday. Thanks!

Problem is caused by the silver rectangle tab on the replacement 6s screens. Easy fix is to tape that ribbon flex in place. You’ll want it highest as possible with the earpiece metal bracket installed.

This will fix the problem as it stops the metal plate from catching against the logic board and applying pressure behind the screen which causes that yellow mark.
