My little brother has a Samsung Galaxy Tab 4. When he plays minecraft, after touching the screen to move the joystick the joystick returns to it's original position as if there was no finger or the screen forgot how it worked. Simple touches work fine though. Also the screen was also very slippery since it first came.

Check the setting in Settings > Device > Accessibility > Dexterity > Press and Hold Delay ( or Assistant Menu) and see if you can adjust it to suit.
