Im trying to source a replacement piece of the black plastic piece on the outside of the macbook but I literally have no idea what its called and cant find it. Any help would be great :)

Are you referring to the black hinge cover that attaches to the bottom of the screen assembly portion?
Note that if the top assembly is loose at the bottom where you can squeeze it and there is a noticeable gap it indicates that the hinge housing on the screen is separating from the screen assembly.
