Home Button on the remote doesn't work.

The home button on the Firestick remote doesn’t work on my mom’s Philips TV (i can’t remember if it’s considered a smart tv or not) but it works fine on the living room TCL roku tv we have. Is this the TV’s thing or the firestick?
