After turning on TV with remote control, screen flashes briefly then powers down. TV power cord must be removed then plugged back in before making another power-up attempt. After 2 or 3 tries, TV does power up and function as normal.

@payolap could be a cold solder connection or a failed capacitor/MOSFET on the power board. We would need to know the exact model number for your TV. Also, remove the back cover from your TV and take a look at all the boards. Check for any obvious damage like missing or burned components etc. Post some good pictures of your boards with your QUESTION. That way we can see what you see. Adding images to an existing question

Many thanks for the prompt reply. The TV is a Panasonic TC-58LE64. I have not as yet removed the back panel.
