Mac: Can I put a mid 2012 display assembly on a late 2011, MBP A1278?

Like title say, Can I put a mid 2012 display assembly on a late 2011, MacBook Pro A1278?

I have a working late 2011, but without display assembly. Does it NEED a 2011 display assembly or will a mid 2012 also work?? Ifixit says the only difference on the late 2011 and mid 2012 is cpu speed, memory speed and graphic speed, otherwise identical. But they still sell the display assemblies for them with different article numbers. Anyone who knows, has anyone tried…?
