Assuming that the unit worked prior to installing the new battery, then the battery is likely a dud.

Counterfeit batteries are a major issue unfortunately, and if you purchased the battery online from Amazon, Aliexpress, Temu, etc, there is a high likelihood that the product you bought was a knockoff.
Since these batteries have tightly packaged lithium cells, it is not reccommended to open the battery pack or attempt to repair it.

I used all original milwaukee batteries, the batteries worked in other tools perfectly fine. I wonder if I somehow bind up the gears during the last usage. The blinking lights indicate overheating but I put fully charged battery in it the next day....same result
Interesting... Milwaukee tools have a lot of overheat sensors which prolong the life of the tools but if the sensors themselves break, this can cause other issues. Given that Milwaukee has stellar warranty, I'd probably go that route since they have OEM parts and can probably fix this easily.
