Background
The Framework Wireless Touchpad Keyboard is a wireless keyboard which were announced at Framework [Next Gen] Event on April 21st, 2026. The Framework Keyboard came to fruition during the development of the Framework Desktop, as Framework claims they could not find a keyboard in this segment that they liked and then sought out to make an excellent compact keyboard for any scenario from home theater to computer and server setup. The keyboard is expected to be released later this year but is available for developer preview since the announcement.
The wireless keyboard features the open source ZMK firmware and open source surface CAD model to allow community modding. The keyboard is easy to open and easy to repair, and as all of Framework's products it has replaceable batteries, and available control boards. The keyboard uses the Nordic nRF54LM20A microcontroller, a low power chip for long battery life and the keyboard comes with a 69 x 86 mm multi-touch touchpad.
Framework has partnered with On-Lite for the Wireless Touchpad Keyboard, which is the same keyboard partner Framework has for the keyboards and touchpads in their laptop lineup.
