The Gossen Metrawatt MetraHit 16T multimeter is designed for various electrical measurements, including voltage, resistance, capacitance, frequency, and insulation resistance at 100 V. It provides true RMS (TRMS) measurements for both AC and AC+DC signals, ensuring accuracy even with waveform distortion. The input resistance for voltage measurements can be adjusted between 10 MOhm and 1 MOhm. With an accessory clip-on current sensor, the MetraHit 16T can measure currents ranging from 10 mA to 100 A. It also functions as a temperature meter, providing readings in Celsius and Fahrenheit for Pt100 and Pt1000 sensors.

Key features include acoustic signals for continuity testing, detection of dangerous contact voltages, overrange limits, and insulation resistance measurements below acceptable levels. The multimeter automatically stores minimum and maximum values and can hold stabilized measurements using the DATA HOLD function, allowing for accurate data capture even with rapid changes in the measured quantity. Windows software is available for graphical representation of measured values and calibration through an RS232 interface.
