Background
The Mac mini, originally released in early 2005, has survived numerous features, processors, and capabilities, but has only really sported two main designs. The 2024 Mac mini has been shaped into the third design, essentially a small Mac Studio—and is less than half the size of the outgoing long-in-the-tooth Mac mini with M2.
Starting $100 lower than the previous generation Mac mini (which was also $100 cheaper than its previous generation) at $599, it's available only in silver.
Identification
The 2024 Mac mini looks like a miniature Mac Studio and shares various design elements. It has a silver aluminum enclosure with a large black Apple logo on top, two front vertical USB-C ports, and "Mac mini" printed on the bottom. The Mac mini can also be identified by the model number on the bottom cover.
