How can you tell if it's working? |
Versions of WR100:
Version 1: Released in 2003, with a black and silver version as well as a white version. Very few of these units were produced due to only being made for a month.
Version 2: Also released in 2003, these had updated firmware from the version 1, also offering a black and silver color scheme. Early versions of these units often face activation problems.
Version 3: Released in 2005, these are the first of the WR100's to have a "siren test" option in the menu. These are the last of the WR100's until 2010 to have functional filters.
Version 4: Released in early 2006, these are the first of the WR100's to face ceramic filter issues. While the filters will still fail, it is rather uncommon for these units.
Version 5: Released in late 2006, these units often have firmware issues and failing ceramic filters.
2010 Version 5: Made in 2010, these are the most reliable of version 5's and have ceramic filters that are more reliable than earlier units, even version 3's in some cases.
Affected ceramic filter serial numbers: All units from 60XXX-90XXX will face failing ceramic filter issues, rather it be a "squealing" noise often known as "The squeal of death", complete silence, or very bad audio quality.
