Background and Identification
Released in 2014, the Sony MDR-XB950 is a pair of wireless headphones produced by Sony. The MDR-XB950 functions as a set of wireless headphones but also comes equipped with a cable for a wired connection. The MDR-XB950 is an overarching model for other models such as: MDR-XB950B1, MDR-XB950BT, and MDR-XB950AP. Not much information can be found to identify the differences among the models, but the MDR-XB950AP model comes with enhanced bass features and is only available in a wired version. The MDR-XB950BT is built with the bluetooth connections but can also use a wire for wired charging and connection.
To enhance the bluetooth functionality of the headset, Sony released the Headphones Connect app later in 2017.
