Toshiba Satellite P870 Repair

This laptop is in the same series as the Toshiba Satellite P875, and the chassis is similar to the one featured in the dynabook Satellite T572/T772 and Qosmio X870/X875. Therefore, repair guides for those models should work with this model as well

Note: most of this information is taken from the P870 Maintenance Manual that is attached.

Toshiba Satellite P870/P875 & dynabook Satellite T572/T772 & Qosmio X870/X875 is a full size notebook PC based on the mobile Intel Sandy/Ivy Bridge Processor, providing high-speed processing capabilities and advanced features. The computer employs a Lithium-ion battery that allows it to be battery-operated for a longer period of time. The display uses a 17.3-inch HD+ or Full HD LCD panel, at a resolution of 1600x900 or 1920x1080. The RPGA Socket supports BTO/CTO for the CPU so that the system can be designed to suit your needs.

The computer has two or four SO-DIMM slots (BTO), which come standard with DDR3-1600MHz (PC3-12800) memory module. DDR3 is driven at 1.5V. It accepts BTO/CTO for your memory requirements. It can incorporate up to 32.0 GB of main memory.

The computer accommodates a fixed 12.7 mm ODD with one of following types:

The internal LAN supports 10/100Mbit or 10/100/1000Mbit Ethernet. It supports Wake-up on LAN from S3/S4/S5 and PXE boot support. This internal LAN has an RJ45 jack to directly accommodate a LAN cable.

The internal PCI Mini slot supports IEEE802.11b/g/n (MOW) Wireless LAN card; WLAN + Bluetooth combo card is also supported. One or two or three antennas depending on module.
