If your Alan 48 Excel has poor reception or no reception at all, you should check the Q104 transistor receiver section and replace it if necessary.

First of all: Power off! Switch it off and unplug the device.

Then grab your screwdriver and undo the screws on the housing.

Carefully lift off the housing and put it to one side.

Put the housing back on and tighten the screws.
