The hard drive stores some of the computer's files and has limited space. Replacement of the hard drive is necessary if it is broken or there is no space left.

It may be advantageous to upgrade the hard drive to a Solid State Drive (SSD) as their advantages over a traditional hard drive include: faster load times, longer lasting and more durable, use less power, and are quieter.

Remove all 15 marked screws on the underside of the laptop using a #0 screwdriver.
There are three different sized screws.
1x 9.8mm Screw
8x 5.6mm Screws
6x 5.0mm Screws
Divide the screws by size and save them in a safe space for reassembly later.

Carefully peel back the two pieces of black tape holding down the cord.
Pull the marked tab straight up away from the board to disconnect the hard drive from the board.
