This guide demonstrates the process of removing and replacing the battery of the HP G62-234DX laptop. If the battery has come to the end of its life, it's no longer holding a charging or not charging at all, it's probably time to replace it.

Before replacing your battery, check the Troubleshooting page for other tips.

It's important to power off your laptop before starting a repair and disconnect from the charger to avoid damaging your device.

*This device has no battery so we had to mime the repair.

  Make sure the computer is turned off, disconnected from the charger, and on a steady surface.
  
  Unlock the battery by sliding the button just below it, to the left.

  While pushing the lock button to the unlock position, slide the battery out and away from the laptop.
  
  When sliding the new battery back into the socket, you'll know it's secure when you hear a click.
