This guide is for those with a Sony VAIO PCG-3E2L laptop that no longer holds charge or their battery is damaged. This guide will walk you through the process of replacing the battery and extending the life of your laptop.

Before starting, power off your laptop and disconnect it from any power source. This replacement requires a new aftermarket battery and takes approximately 2 minutes. Follow these steps carefully to restore your laptop's battery life.

  First, locate the battery compartment found at the top, underneath the machine.
  
  Use your thumbs to push the switch locks inward.

  Upon removing the cover you will be met with the current battery.
  
  Take note of the orientation of the current battery and carefully locate the lock switch at the middle bottom of the battery and remove it, then set the replacement battery inside the reverse way you removed the old one to install it.

  Replace the battery while holding the lock switches inward to install it securely.
  
  Check to make sure the lock switch are back into the lock position and the battery cover is flush with the rest of the laptop frame.
  
  Now you are able to safely plug back in your charger to test the battery.

All that is required is for you to power off your laptop and disconnect it from any power source, then flip it around to open the battery cover using the lock switches with both thumbs, then swap the battery in the same orientation and install back the battery cover and secure it with the lock switches before resuming normal operations.
